Jonathan Ryan

Biography

Jonathan Ryan, FAGO, ChM has served as the AGO's Vice President/Councilor for Competitions and New Music since 2020. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and Eastman School of Music, he holds six First Prize awards in major national and international competitions. As a soloist and conductor, he has premiered works by numerous composers, including Cecilia McDowall, Philip Moore, and Zachary Wadsworth. From 2017 to 2023, he was Director of Music at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, TX where he founded the RSCM-based chorister program and Compline Choir, headed the premiere of nine commissioned pieces for the church's 75th anniversary, and directed the church's choirs in two services for the 2023 National Conference of the Association of Anglican Musicians. www.jonathan-ryan.com
