Marshall Joos

Biography

A native of Somersworth, New Hampshire, Marshall Joos is a junior at Rice University, where he studies with Ken Cowan. He began organ lessons at the age of ten with Lorrie Dodson, continuing his studies with Christian Lane of the Boston Organ Studio (2018–21). Joos was featured on NPR’s From the Top in 2021, receiving the show’s Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. He is also the recipient of a Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Scholarship and won the Northeastern Connecticut chapter’s L. Cameron Johnson Competition in 2019.
